Αυτό το γεγονός συγκλονίζει όλη την κοινότητα, γιατί ο γέροντας Αρσένιος ήταν ο πνευματικός τους πατέρας, ο γιατρός, ο δάσκαλος τους. Ήταν ο άνθρωπος που πραγματικά διατήρησε την ελληνική και τη χριστιανική ψυχή στα χωριά της περιοχής των Φαράσων. Αμέτρητα τα θαύματα που επιτέλεσε εν ζωή. Η κοίμησή του ανατρέπει τα πάντα στην κοινότητα. Αρχίζουν οι εντάσεις, οι διαπληκτισμοί και οι έριδες.
