Η ιστορία του Αγίου Παϊσίου, του σύγχρονου Αγίου που άγγιξε όλο τον κόσμο της Ορθοδοξίας, ξεκινάει με τη γέννησή του στα Φάρασα της Καππαδοκίας, στις 25 Ιουλίου του 1924. Λίγες ημέρες αργότερα, βαφτίζεται από τον γέροντα Αρσένιο τον Καππαδόκη, ο οποίος του δίνει το όνομά του. Η γέννηση του Αγίου Παϊσίου συμπίπτει με τον ξεριζωμό των Ελλήνων από την Καππαδοκία. Ο μικρός Αρσένιος γίνεται πρόσφυγας στις πρώτες μέρες της ζωής του. Η οικογένειά του, μαζί με όλους τους κατοίκους των ελληνικών χωριών της Καππαδοκίας, παίρνει τον δρόμο της προσφυγιάς για την Ελλάδα. Μπροστάρης και πνευματικός οδηγός τους στην περιπέτεια αυτή είναι ο γέροντας Αρσένιος.
